termed the backbone of trade and commerce has been entirely overlooked: We, therefore, do respectfully ask a donation of 50,000 acres of land, to be taken from the public lands in this State, for the purpose of establishing scientific agricultural schools. Resolved, That the secretary of state be instructed to send certified copies of the foregoing memorial to each of our representatives and senators in Congress. STEPHEN B.
