S.nce 1934 she had been eneaeeH ,il,|i..graphical work in D e n v e r and in April 1935 organized the RocW Mountain Center for Bibliographical Research with headquarters in Denve? a> a graduate of G n n n e l l College in I o w a in 1911 and took her dem-w Library Science at the University of Illinois in 1916 wi in the catalog d e p a r t m e n t of the University, 1915-16 she"spent"in the loan d< partment, and 1916-19 was spent in organizing and developing the engineering library for the College of E n g i n e e r i n g ; 1919-20 she was reor nizer of the science and industry department of the Los Angeles Public rary, 1920-24 she was librarian of the Irving National Bank, New York Lit: and from 1921-32 she w a s head of the personnel and editorial department of the I r v i n g T r u s t C o m p a n y , N e w Y o r k City. Miss Baechtold was unusually successful in any branch of library work he undertook and her wide experience in various library and commercial fields made her invaluable to the Bibliographical Center. Some of the bibliographical projects she supervised were a Consolidated list of periodicals in the regional libraries of that section and several Bibliographies of Western literature. At the time of her death she was engaged on a "Bibliography of American L i t e r a t u r e , especially fiction, having some phases of engineering as its theme." Miss Baechtold made m a n y friends wherever she lived and they will hear of her death with sorrow. Eleanor Davis, '16-'17, has resigned her position as librarian of the Natrona County Public L i b r a r y at Casper, W y o m i n g , to become senior librarian in charge of traveling libraries for the Library Division of the State Department of Education, St. Paul, Minnesota. Caroline Orvis, '16-'17, resigned her position in the Catalog Department of Nebraska State Library Commission at Chadron, Nebraska, to become assistant librarian of the N o r t h e r n N o r m a l and Industrial School Library at Aberdeen, South Dakota. Edith H a g u e , B.L.S. '18, writes that her address is changed from 130 W Kingsbridge Road, New York City, to Oteen, North Carolina. Rudolph H . Gjelsness, B.L.S. '20, resigned his position as librarian of the University of Arizona Library at Tucson, Arizona to become Professor f Library Science at the University of Michigan Department of Library cience at Ann Arbor, Michigan. Hortense E g g m a n n , '25-26, assistant librarian of Lindenwood College, St. Charles, Missouri, was awarded a scholarship by the college this summer ^nd commenced work on her master's degree at Columbia School of library [service during the summer session. E s t h e r Stallmann, B.S. '27, resigned her position as assistant Professor [of the University of Tennessee Library School, Knoxville, Tennessee, and will enter the University of Chicago Graduate Library School this fall. Miss Stallman taught in the summer school of the University of Tennessee the first session, and the second session at the George Peabody College for Teachers Library School this past summer. I Grace F . Crumpacker, B.S. '28, M.A. '32, is now head of the reference department, Kansas State Library, Topeka, Kansas. Mary E . Hoff, B.S. '28, is now head of the order department, Univerity of Kansas, Lawrence, Kansas. Jerome K. Wilcox, B.S. '27, M.A. '28, resigned his position as head of the acquisition department at Duke University Library, Durham, North Carolina, to become assistant librarian of the University of California at Berkeley, September 1, 1937. Margaret A. Wisherd, S.S. '28, recently a teacher in the Cole Junior High School Denver, Colorado, died February 25, 1937 according to information gleaned from a note in the May 15th issue of the Denver Univerity Bulletin.
