Downing P . O ' H a r r a , M.A. '28. Mr. and Mrs. O ' H a r r a have recently adopted a baby girl, Nancy Jean. Mr. O ' H a r r a is librarian of the Municipal University at Wichita, Kansas. Gladys E . E v a n s , B.S. '29, is now Mrs. Russell Nesemeier. Mr. and Mrs. Nesemeier are living at Rock Grove, Illinois. Margaret M. Ritchie, B.S. '29, resigned her position as librarian of the High School Library at T w o H a r b o r s , Minnesota, t o become librarian of the Senior High School and Public Schools at M a n k a t o , Minnesota. Florence W o o d s , B.S. '29, is now assistant librarian at Western College Oxford, Ohio. For several years she had been librarian of Christian College Columbia, Missouri. Grace A. Anderson, B.S. '30 (Mrs. Clair C. O l s o n ) , is librarian of the N o r t h Park College Library, F o s t e r and Kedzie Avenues, Chicago. Mary Jane Anderson, B.S. '30, head of the catalog department of the Carnegie Free Library, Alliance, Ohio, died on April 26th after an illness of only a few hours. She was a graduate of Mt. Union College and of the University of Illinois Library School. T h e s u m m e r of 1934 was spent in graduate work at Columbia. She was an active member of professional associations and was secretary of the Junior Members Round Table for the Youngstown region. Mr. Sohn, librarian of the Alliance Public Library, wrote of her, "A monument to her will be the constantly improving collection of books. Always a good reader, she contributed greatly to the selection and ordering of new books, besides her work as cataloger. She will be missed by many patrons who looked to her for guidance in reading." The Alliance Review carried almost a column devoted to an appreciation of her life and work. Luc T -u > \ ? - Jones, B.S. '30, librarian of the Veterans Administration Facility Library, Ft. Lyon, Colorado, has been transferred to the same library at Jefferson Barracks, Missouri, March, 1937. ! E r n e s t J. Scheerer, '30. Mr. and Mrs. Scheerer announce the birth of a daughter, Ruth, born May 21. Mr Scheerer is assistant in the loan department of the University of Illinois Library. 1 Alice B. Wesley, B.S. '30, librarian of Chula Vista California, h* inaugurated a series of lectures and travel talks to be held in the Public Library. Announcement of the lectures was made through attractive boo! markers distributed at the main library. T h e first attraction was Max MiHer. a well known columnist, newspaper man and author of a number of popular books on subjects ranging from Hollywood to Mexico and from the * « Diego waterfront to the Bering Sea. The Chula Vista Star carried i long front page story about the lecture series, and Max Miller in particular On May ! > <• ~ T J.
