The Comptroller and the Director of Admissions and Records recommend that these changes be approved effective September I, 1953I concur.

On motion of Mr. Herrick, this revision of fees was approved as recommended.

CONTRACT FOR SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT AT AIRPORT (12) The Board of Trustees has authorized certain improvements, including a sewage treatment plant, at the University of Illinois Airport and has appropriated funds for this work. The Director of the Institute of Aviation and the Comptroller recommend the award of a contract for $24,609.50 to Oran L. Shoemaker and Company, Champaign, for the construction of a sewage treatment plant including a control building, tanks, filters and other equipment, construction of dikes, dams, and ditches, and the laying of the necessary pipe lines. I concur and recommend that the Comptroller and the Secretary of the Board be authorized to execute this contract.

On motion of Mr. Johnston, this recommendation was approved and the Comptroller and Secretary of the Board were authorized to execute the contract.

CONTRACTS FOR CONSTRUCTION OF ADDITION TO SMITH MEMORIAL HALL (13) The Director of the Physical Plant and the Comptroller recommend awards of contracts to the following lowest bidders for the construction of an addition to the Smith Memorial Music Hall. This addition is to be west of the building, at the basement level only, and will provide a large music room with a seating capacity for 224 students and will be used jointly for choral and orchestral work. A complete additional unit can be built around and over this room at a future time. General — Oran L. Shoemaker and Company, Champaign $52 553 Electrical — Potter Electric Service, Urbana 10 907 Plumbing and Heating — Reliable Plumbing and Heating Company, Champaign 7 035 Ventilating and Temperature Control — F. R. Inskip and Company, Champaign 11 737 Funds are available in the state appropriation for 1951-1953 "For remodeling, modernization, and improvement of existing buildings at Urbana-Champaign, including water reclamation installations, plans and specifications and fixed equipment installed relating thereto," subject to release by the Governor. I concur and recommend that the Comptroller and the Secretary of the Board be authorized to execute these contracts.

On motion of Mrs. Holt, these contracts were awarded and the Comptroller and the Secretary of the Board were authorized to execute the same. This action was taken by the following vote: Aye, Mr. Bissell, Mr. Grange, Mr. Herrick, Mr. Hickman, Mrs. Holt, Mr. Johnston, Mr. Livingston, Mr. Nickell, Mrs. Watkins; no, none; absent, Mr. Megran, Mr. Stratton.

CONTRACT FOR AIR-CONDITIONING INSTALLATION IN ANIMAL HOSPITAL QUARTERS AT THE CHICAGO PROFESSIONAL COLLEGES (14) The Director of the Physical Plant and the Comptroller recommend the award of a contract for $4,196 to the Refrigeration Maintenance Corporation, Chicago, the lowest bidder, for an air-conditioning installation needed in the Animal Hospital quarters of the Chicago Professional Colleges. This will consist of furnishing and installing a unit for two rooms in the Dentistry-Medicine-Pharmacy Building which need to be air-conditioned to reduce mortality of experimental animals.
