"Contractor's Fee" when project costs exceed $25 to be added to total of all job costs 17% "Contractor's Fee" when acoustical or other work is furnished by direct lump sum subcontract 17% Charges for less than $25 will be billed on a lump sum basis. I concur and recommend that the Comptroller and the Secretary of the Board be authorized to execute this contract.

On motion of Mr. Johnston, this contract was awarded and the Comptroller and the Secretary of the Board were authorized to execute the same.

STORM WATER DRAINAGE H U F F GYMNASIUM (18) The Director of the Physical Plant and the Comptroller recommend award of a contract for $8,825 to the Illiana Construction Company, Inc., Urbana, the lowest bidder, for the construction of a storm sewer along the east side of Huff Gymnasium to serve as an outlet for the draining of the swimming pool, downspout and footing drains. This sewer will divert the storm water drainage south to discharge into the new sewer being provided for the Law Building. Funds are available in a special appropriation made by the Board of Trustees for this project. I concur and recommend that the Comptroller and the Secretary of the Board be authorized to execute this contract.

On motion of Mr. Bissell, this contract was awarded and the Comptroller and the Secretary of the Board were authorized to execute the same.

CONTRACT FOR EXTENSION OF PNEUMATIC TUBE SYSTEM IN RESEARCH AND EDUCATIONAL HOSPITALS (19) The Director of the Physical Plant and the Comptroller recommend award of a contract for $3,666 to the Lamson Corporation, Syracuse, New York, for an extension of the pneumatic tube system from the addition to the Research and Educational Hospitals to the Neuropsychiatric Institute. The work will consist of relocating the system from areas where it is no longer required to connect other areas in the Hospital addition and the Neuropsychiatric Institute. Funds are available in an appropriation made for remodeling by the Board of Trustees on November 20, 1953. I concur and recommend that the Comptroller and the Secretary of the Board be authorized to execute this contract.

CONTRACT FOR DESIGN OF AIR CONDITIONING INSTALLATIONS IN RESEARCH A N D EDUCATIONAL HOSPITALS (20) The Director of the Physical Plant and the Comptroller recommend award of a contract to Nelson and Nettnin, Inc., 343 South Dearborn Street, Chicago, for engineering services in designing air-conditioning installations in the milk formula preparation area, the bacteriology and serology laboratories, and the clinic and admission areas in the addition to the Research and Educational Hospitals. This firm has made a proposal to do the work at a fee of 10 per cent of the cost of the completed installation. This is estimated to cost $92,000, so that the fee for the engineering design would be $9,200. It will be stipulated in the contract that the cost of the work to be done by Nelson and Nettnin, Inc., shall not exceed $9,200 without prior authorization from the University to proceed with work which shall call for payments in excess of this figure. This firm has done several engineering jobs for the University, both in Chicago and UrbanaChampaign. Funds are available in assignments made by the Board of Trustees on May l 5> J954, for remodeling at the Chicago Professional Colleges.
