and upon payment of a like sum one additional pipe line for the transportation of gas, oil, petroleum products or other liquids, gases or other substances which can be transported through a pipe line (grantee to have the right to select the route or routes thereof) under, through and across the following described real estate; situated in Piatt County, State of Illinois, to w i t : Centerline description of a strip of ground not to exceed seventy-five feet (75') in width, beginning at a point in the water's edge of the Sangamon River, said point being measured East along said water's edge, same being the South line of the University of Illinois tract of land, approximately 257 feet from the West line of section 14, T-18-N, R-5-E, Piatt County, Illinois; Thence N . 4° 15' W , along Engineer's staked line, 421 feet to a point; Thence N . 4° 00' E 2045 feet to a point in the division line between the lands of the aforesaid University of Illinois on the South and the lands of N. F . Tatman, et al., on the North, said division line being also the North line of the Southwest quarter of said Section 14, said point being measured East along said division line 367 feet from the Northwest corner of the Southwest quarter of Section 14: And containing in all 1495 rods in length and 75 feet in width. On motion of Mr. McLaughlin, this recommendation was approved and the foregoing resolution was adopted. Contract for Modernization of Transformer Vaults (2) The Director of the Physical Plant and the Comptroller recommend the award of a contract for $54,900 to the Anderson Electric Company, Danville, the lowest bidder, for the modernization of the transformer vaults in Talbot Laboratory and Altgeld and H a r k e r Halls. T h e bids received were for both the electrical and the general work in connection with each project. Funds are available in the state appropriation for "Construction of extensions to the Utility Distribution Systems." I concur and recommend that the Comptroller and the Secretary of the Board be authorized to execute this contract. On motion of Mr. Livingston, this contract was authorized, as recommended. Purchases (3) T h e Director of Purchases has proposed and t h e Comptroller recommends the following purchases.
