CONTRACT FOR FIRE ALARM EVACUATION SIGNAL SYSTEMS (13) Bids have been received for the installation of fire alarm evacuation signal systems in the University High School, University High School Gymnasium, Men's Residence Hall, Illini Union Building, and McKinley Hospital. Funds are available in the Physical Plant renewal and replacement appropriations for the cost of installation in the University High School, University High School Gymnasium, and the McKinley Hospital. The cost of the installation in the Illini Union Building will be paid from funds appropriated for this purpose and the cost of the installation in the Men's Residence Halls will be financed by a transfer of surplus arising from Busey and Evans Hall operations. This improvement is a part of the general program recommended by the University Safety Committee. The Director of the Physical Plant and the Comptroller recommend the award of a contract in the amount of $10,600 to the Leverenz Electric Company, Danville, the lowest bidder. The total cost of the project including the repair of plaster and paint damaged by the installation is estimated at $12,300. I concur and recommend that the Comptroller and the Secretary of the Board be authorized to execute this contract.

On motion of Mr. Livingston, this contract was awarded and authority was given as recommended.
