PURCHASE OF EQUIPMENT FOR DEPARTMENT OF PHYSICS

(22) The purchase of a radome at a cost of $2,970 from the Goodyear Aircraft Corporation, Akron, Ohio, has been authorized as an emergency to secure prompt delivery. This equipment is needed for research work being done by the University for the Department of the Army.

On motion of Mr. Johnston, this purchase was approved.

HONORARY DEGREE FOR DR. T H E O P H I L E A N T O N I N ALAJOUANJNE

(23) The University Senate recommends that the honorary degree of Doctor of Science (D.Sc.) be conferred on Dr. Theophile Antonin Alajouanine of the University of Paris at the Commencement Exercises of the Chicago Professional Colleges on June 19, 1952. He is currently serving as Visiting Professor of Neurology and Neurological Surgery at the College of Medicine and will deliver the Commencement address on June 19. I concur.

On motion of Mrs. Watkins, this degree was authorized.
