Smith, Kline, and French Laboratories, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, $9,350 for investigation on the nature of muscular relaxation to be carried out with the aid of known and newly synthesized drugs, in the Department of Pharmacology, under the direction of Dr. Klaus R. W. Unna, for one year beginning August I, 195192. The Upjohn Company, Kalamazoo, Michigan, $1,400 for a study on adrenal cortex extract and hair growth, in the Department of Dermatology, under the supervision of Dr. Theodore Cornbleet. 93. Arthritis and Rheumatism Foundation, Chicago, $2,000 for continuation of Arthritis and Rheumatism Foundation research, in the Department of Medicine. 94. Lakeland Foundation, Chicago: a. $10,600 for research on attempt to isolate the growth stimulating and inhibiting agents from the liver or intestinal mucosa, in the Department of Clinical Science, under the supervision of Dr. A. C. Ivy, for one year beginning July 1, 1951. b. $600 for research to evaluate and develop Gruskin's diagnostic cancer antigen. 95. National Foundation for Infantile Paralysis, $12,000 for the support of educational programs in the Division of Services for Crippled Children. 96. National Foundation for Medical Education, Inc., $15,000 to the College of Medicine for research activities of students. 97. Pope Foundation, Inc., Chicago, $18,688.61 for research to establish dynamic techniques for analysis of neuromuscular skeletal pathology, in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, under the supervision of Drs. H. W. Kendell and A. C. Ivy. 98. Teagle Foundation, Inc., New York, New York, $8,000 for research in paralysis agitans, in the Department of Psychiatry, under the direction of Dr. Francis J. Gerty. 99. University of Illinois Foundation, Urbana, $3,781.25 for research in the College of Dentistry. 100. American Medical Association, Chicago, $500 for research on stereotaxic instrument for man, in the Department of Neurology and Neurological Surgery, under the supervision of Dr. Percival Bailey. 161. Chicago Heart Association: a. $3,250 for a study of mechanisms of adenosine triphosphat induced contraction of isolated cardiac myofibrils, in the Rush Department of Pathology, Presbyterian Hospital, under the supervision of Dr. George M. United States Public Health Service: a. $14,338.02 for continuation of a study of the neurophysiological basis of epilepsy, in the Department of Psychiatry, under the supervision of Dr. F. A.
