Watkins; no, none; absent, Mr. Hickman, Mr. Megran, Mr. Stevenson. APPROPRIATION FOR DEPARTMENT OF CIVIL ENGINEERING (12) The Dean of the College of Engineering has requested that the house at 501 South Wright Street, Champaign, be converted into office space for use by the structural research laboratory of the Department of Civil Engineering. This will require some remodeling and the purchase of equipment. The Provost recommends that an assignment of $10,000 for this project be made to the Physical Plant Department from funds budgeted for Nonrecurring Equipment and Remodeling Unassigned. I concur and recommend that the appropriation be made. On motion of Mr. Fornof, this appropriation was made by the following vote: Aye, Mr. Fornof, Mr. Grange, Mr. Herrick, Mrs. Holt, Mr. Johnston, Mr. Livingston, Mr. Nickell, Mrs. Watkins; no, none; absent, Mr. Hickman, Mr. Megran, Mr. Stevenson. SPECIAL APPROPRIATIONS FOR NONRECURRING EXPENDITURES (13) T h e Committee on Nonrecurring Appropriations recommends assignments of funds as follows: 1. Remodeling in Noyes Laboratory of Chemistry $14 700 2. Additional facilities for Army R.O.T.C. at the Chicago Undergraduate Division 10 700 3. Remodeling east wing of the Illini Union Coffee House 9 800 4. Construction in architectural drafting rooms for the College of Fine and Applied Arts 5 5QQ Total. $40 700 I recommend that these appropriations be made from the" General Reserve Fund.
