Loomis, be reappointed as Acting Head for the academic year 1951-1952 and that he be paid additional compensation of $1,000 for such services. O n m o t i o n o f M r . G r a n g e , t h e s e r e c o m m e n d a t i o n s w e r e approved. REINSTATEMENT O F SABBATICAL LEAVE O F ABSENCE FOR PROFESSOR THOMAS E. BENNER (6) Professor Thomas E. Benner of the College of Education was granted sabbatical leave of absence on one-half salary for the second semester of 1950-1951 so that he could undertake an assignment for the United States and the United Nations on an educational mission to Korea. Plans for utilization of his services did not materialize and he subsequently withdrew his request. His leave was canceled without prejudice to any future application. Professor Benner has now requested sabbatical leave of absence on one-half pay for the first semester of I95I-I952 so that he may serve as an educational consultant in Korea. H e has been on the faculty for twenty years and has never had a sabbatical leave of absence. H e is eligible for leave either with full or one-half pay. In view of the previous authorization by the Board, I have approved this sabbatical leave of absence for the first semester of 1951-1952 on onehalf pay.

On motion of Mr. Herrick, the action of the President was approved.
