THE CHAIRMAN: Mr. Crawford, who was to speak to us on the next topic, "The Changing Character of the Problems of the Railroad,11 is unable to be with us. I should like to read a letter which has been received from him: PENNSYLVANIA LINES West of Pittsburgh General Office, Pennsylvania Station Pittsburgh, Pa. May 5, 1913 Dear Professor GosstI now find it will be impossible for me to join you in the dedication of your Transportation Buildings at Urbana on the ninth. I regret this very much indeed as it would giv© me great pleasure to accept your courteous invitation. I wish to extend to the University, to you and your assistants, my hearty congratulations upon the completion of this very important part of your equipment, as I am sure it will permit of the accomplishment of muoh work which will be useful to all of the people.
