BOARD OF TRUSTEES

ARTICLE V I . PERIOD OF CONTRACT

Subject to the availability of appropriations, the period of time covered by this contract shall be from the date of the first delivery of steam service to the following June 30 and shall continue thereafter until further notice.

ARTICLE V I I . PAYMENT

Payment for services shall be made at the end of each month after service has been rendered.

ARTICLE V I I I . DEFINITIONS

"Contracting Officer" refers to the Chief, Procurement Division, Supply Service of the Veterans Administration, or his duly appointed successors and their authorized representatives and any other duly authorized representatives of the Administrator of Veterans Affairs.

ARTICLE IX. NON-DISCRIMINATION CLAUSE

The Contractor, in performing the work required by this contract, shall not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, creed, color or national origin, and that he will include a similar provision in all sub-contracts.

ARTICLE X. OFFICIALS N O T TO BENEFIT

No member or delegate to Congress or resident commissioner shall be admitted to any share or part of this contract or to any benefit that may arise therefrom, but this provision shall not be construed to extend to this contract if made with a corporation for its general benefit.

ARTICLE X I . TAXES

Rates specified for steam service are exclusive of any sales or use tax imposed by state, or by any duly constituted taxing authority therein having jurisdiction to impose such a tax on the articles named in this agreement, the United States not being liable for payment of such tax (Public No. 819—76th Congress, approved October 9, 1940). Rates specified included any applicable Federal Excise Taxes, as the United States is not exempt from payment of such taxes.

ARTICLE X I I . TERMINATION

This agreement, if accepted, shall become a contract and shall remain in force during the period above stated unless terminated at the request of either party after sixty (60) days' notice in writing. In the event the Veterans Administration closes this activity subsequent to the execution of this contract or during the contractual period, this contract may be canceled immediately upon written notice to the Contractor and the Veterans Administration relieved from its obligation to make further purchases of supplies or services thereunder, except as otherwise provided for herein.
