8. Allied Chemical & Dye Corporation, New York City, $2,400 plus tuition in support of two fellowships of $1,200 each in chemistry during the academic year 1948-1949. 9. American Cyanamid Company, Bound Brook, New Jersey, $3,000 in support of a postdoctoral fellowship in chemistry during the academic year 1948-1949. 10. Cincinnati Chemical Works, Inc., Norwood, Ohio, $1,000 in continued support of a fellowship in chemistry during the academic year 1948-1949. 11. Eastman Kodak Company, Rochester, New York, $1,500 for continuation of a fellowship in chemistry during the academic year 1948-1949. 12. E. I. du Pont de Nemours & Company, Inc., Wilmington, Delaware, $4,500 in support of a postdoctoral fellowship in chemistry (stipend of $3,000 and $i,5oo to the University for necessary equipment and supplies in connection with the research) during the academic year 1948-1949; $2,800 in support of a postgraduate fellowship in electrical engineering (stipend of $1,800 and $1,000 to the University for expense in connection with the research) during the academic year 1948-1949. 13. Graham, Crowley, and Associates, Inc., Chicago, $4,500 for the renewal of three graduate fellowships in chemistry. 15. Rohm & Haas Company, Philadelphia, $1,200 for continuation of a fellowship in chemistry during the academic year 1948-1949. 16. Smith, Kline, and French Laboratories, Philadelphia, $1,000 for continuation of the Walter G. Karr Fellowship during the academic year 1948-1949. 17. Standard Oil Company of California, San Francisco, $1,250, plus tuition, in support of a graduate fellowship in chemistry during the academic year 1948194918. Victor Chemical Works, Chicago Heights, $1,750 for continuation of a research assistantship in inorganic chemistry during the academic year 1948-194919. Western Cartridge Company, Division of Olin Industries, Inc., East Alton, Illinois, $1,800 for continuation of a fellowship in chemistry, $1,500 for the stipend and $300 for the purchase of any special equipment or chemicals which might be needed in connection with the research. 20. The Edward Orton, Jr., Ceramic Foundation, Columbus, Ohio, $1,200 for continuation of a fellowship in ceramic engineering during the academic year 19481949, $1,000 for the stipend and $200 for miscellaneous expenses. 21. Pittsburgh Consolidation Coal Company, Pittsburgh, $2,250 for continuation of a fellowship in chemical engineering during the academic year 1948-1949, $1,250 for the stipend and $1,000 for tuition and other fees and to cover expenses incidental to the research. 22. Shell Fellowship Committee, New York City, $3,000 plus tuition fees in support of two fellowships, one in geology and one in chemical engineering, during the academic year 1948-1949, $1,200 for the stipend in each case and $300 to each department for expenses related to the research projects. If the fellows should be veterans, the Company will pay only the excess of fees and tuition over $500. 23. Standard Oil Company of Indiana, $450 for extension of a fellowship in Civil Engineering during June, July, and August, 1948. 24. Music Research Foundation, Inc., Washington, D.C., $1,200 in support of a research fellowship in the Department of Psychology to be known as "The Bonfils Fellowship for Music Research." 25. National Cancer Institute, $6,912 for studies to ascertain dyes which stain gastric mucosa when taken orally and susceptibility of monkey's stomach to heat and condiments, for one year beginning June 10, 1948. 26. United States Public Health Service, $5,500 for investigation by the Department of Bacteriology, College of Medicine, of the physiological effects of the influenza virus on the host, for one year from July 1, 1948. 27. John and Mary R. Markle Foundation, $5,000 for studies in therapy in infants and children by the Department of Pediatrics, for one year from September I, 1948.
