REVISION OF UNIVERSITY STATUTES (Approved by the Board, page 394) (Present material to be deleted is in brackets; new material is in italics) BUSINESS ORGANIZATION AND PROCEDURE A. General Business Organization * * * (1) The Comptroller shall: ( a ) be the general fiscal [agent] officer of the Board. H e shall approve for the Board all expenditures for which a general or specific appropriation has been made by the Board as evidenced by its records; * * * (2) The Comptroller shall also: ( a ) be the general business [agent] officer of the University and shall have [general] supervision over those offices comprising the Business Office of the University, including those of the [Purchasing Agent] Director of Purchases, Bursar, Chief Accountant, Auditor, and Business [Agent] Manager of Chicago [Departments] Divisions, and the Business Managers of other branches and locations;' * * * [(d) act as t h e a p p o i n t i n g officer for university positions u n d e r State Civil Service and shall r e p r e s e n t t h e University in its relations with t h e S t a t e Civil Service Commission.] * * * C. Purchasing and Storerooms * * * (4) The [Purchasing Agent] Director of Purchases (or the Purchasing Agents of branch locations) shall purchase or issue orders for the purchase of all articles and materials for all departments of the University in all cases where the Board has not given this authority to some other person or committee.
