RELEASE OF FUNDS FROM STATE-WIDE PUBLIC WORKS PROJECTS APPROPRIATION (4) Governor Dwight H . Green has authorized the release of funds from the appropriation made to the University of Illinois by the 64th General Assembly in the "Act making appropriations for a State-wide system of public works projects, including all ordinary and contingent expenses relating thereto," as follows: Release No. 298 "For construction of Electrical Engineering Building and equipment $875 000" Amount released (to be used as designated in the title for this item) . . . . 710 625 I recommend that these funds be appropriated by the Board of Trustees for the expenditures specified in the release.

On motion of Dr. Meyer, these funds were appropriated as recommended, by the following vote: Aye, Mr. Davis, Mr. Fornof, Mrs. Holt, Mr. Livingston, Mr. McKelvey, Mr. McLaughlin, Dr. Meyer, Mr. Williamson; no, none; absent, Mr. Green, Dr. Luken, Mr. Nickell.

AWARD OF CERTIFICATES OF CERTIFIED PUBLIC ACCOUNTANT (5) T h e Committee on Accountancy reports that the Board of Examiners has reviewed the examination papers of one of the candidates in the May, 1946, C.P.A. examination and has made a correction in the grade assigned to his Auditing paper. This change of grade makes Mr. Theodore John Banka, 2134 West Lyndale Avenue, Chicago, eligible for the Illinois C.P.A. certificate, and the Committee recommends that his name be presented to the Board of Trustees for the C.P.A. certificate, to be issued as of September 24, 1946, the date on which the Board approved other certificates for candidates in the May, 1946, examination. The Committee also recommends that the following candidates, who have presented evidence that they hold C.P.A. certificates in other states, which certificates were obtained by passing the regular written examination, be granted the Illinois C.P.A. certificate under Section 5 of the Accountancy Act of 1043:
