AWARD OF CONTRACT FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES FOR ADDITIONS TO T H E POWER PLANT A N D THE UTILITIES DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM (16) In cost studies of the 1949-1951 building program it is necessary to have estimates of the costs of additions to the Abbott Power Plant and the utilities distribution system. T h e Director of the Physical Plant Department and the Comptroller recommend, and the Chairman of the Building Program Committee concurs, that Sargent and Lundy, Engineers, Chicago, be employed to make these estimates. It is proposed to pay for the actual costs of such estimates plus 100 per cent of the salaries of engineers and draftsmen for indirect costs. In the event that this firm is employed to do the engineering work on the additions to the power plant and utilities distribution system, the University will receive a credit to reduce the indirect cost charge to 50 per cent. The estimated cost of this preliminary contract is $250 for the power plant and $1,250 for the distribution system. Funds are available. I concur and recommend that the Comptroller and the Secretary of the Board be authorized to execute such a contract with Sargent and Lundy. O n m o t i o n o f M r .
