Hospitals to reduce the transmission of heat from these areas to the floors above and authorized the Comptroller and the Secretary of the Board to execute this contract. This is part of the general remodeling program related to the activation of the Research and Educational Hospitals Addition and the East DentistryMedicine-Pharmacy Building. Funds are available in a special appropriation made by the Board of Trustees on May 15, 1954, for this remodeling program. Contract lor installation uf Acoustical Ceiling in Dentistry-Medicine-Pharmacy Building Upon the recommendation of the Director of the Physical Plant and the Comptroller, and with the concurrence of the President of the University, the Executive Committee awarded a contract for $2,530 to N . H . McLennan, Inc., Chicago, the lowest bidder, for installation of acoustical tile in the ceilings of the Physiology and Pharmacology Laboratory in the Dentistry-Medicine-Pharmacy Building and authorized the Comptroller and the Secretary of the Board to execute this contract. This work is part of the general remodeling program related to the activation of the Research and Educational Hospitals Addition and the East Dentistry-Medicine-Pharmacy Building. Funds are available in a special appropriation made by the Board of Trustees on May 15, 1954, for this remodeling program. Contract for Engineering Services for Biology Building Sanitary Sewer Upon recommendation of the Director of the Physical Plant and the Comptroller, and with the concurrence of the President of the University, the Executive Committee authorized the Comptroller and the Secretary of the Board to execute a contract with Wilson and Anderson, Consulting Engineers, Champaign, for engineering services in designing the sanitary sewer on Mathews Avenue from Illinois Street to the main twin city interceptor located south of Springfield Avenue, on the following basis: a. T o make a general survey investigation and report for one-half per cent of the estimated construction costs of such sewers recommended for study. b . T o furnish design services, including preparation of drawings and specifications and bidding documents, for 4^2 per cent of the estimated construction cost up to $25,000 and 4 per cent of the construction costs above $25,000. Any payment under Item (a) would be credited toward payments under Item ( b ) , in proportion to the amount of work under Item ( a ) covered by Item (b). c. To furnish general engineering supervision of construction, including assistance in taking bids, for 4 per cent of the actual cost of construction up to $25,000 and 354 per cent of the cost of construction above $25,000. d. To furnish an inspector for the work if requested, at net cost of wages plus 25 per cent. T h e estimated cost of the sewer project is $46,000 and the estimated fee for Wilson and Anderson is $3,700. Funds are available in the state appropriation for construction of the Biology Building and have been released by the Governor. The firm of Wilson and Anderson has handled much of the sewer work in the twin cities and for the University. Change in Contract for H o m e E c o n o m i c s Building Upon recommendation of the Director of the Physical Plant and the Comptroller, and with the concurrence of the President of the University, the Executive Committee authorized an increase of $3,641.85 in the contract with the Felmley-Dickerson Co., Urbana, for the general work on the Home Economics Building to include a display area across the entire entrance lobby to the auditorium lecture room. This item was included in the original plans but was inadvertently omitted from the bid specifications. The estimate has been checked by the Physical Plant Department and found to be a reasonable charge for the materials and labor required. Funds are available in the state appropriation for construction of the Home Economics Building.
