MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS September 2 3 , 1 9 5 5 The September meeting of the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois was held in the Illini Union Building, Urbana, Illinois, on Friday, September 23, 1955, beginning at 2:00 p.m., Central Daylight Saving Time. The following members were present: Mr. Cushman B. Bissell, Mr. Wirt Herrick, Mrs. Doris S. Holt, Mr. Wayne A. Johnston, Mr. Park Livingston, Mr. Herbert B. Megran, Mr. Vernon L. Nickell, Mr. Timothy W. Swain, and Mr. Kenney E. Williamson. Governor William G. Stratton and Mrs. Frances B. Watkins were absent. Also present were President David D. Henry, Provost Henning Larsen, Vice-President Herbert E. Longenecker, Mr. Ralph F. Lesemann, Legal Counsel, Mr. J. F. Wright, Director of Public Relations, and the officers of the Board, Messrs. H. O. Farber, Comptroller, C. W. Weldon, Treasurer, and A. J. Janata, Secretary. Preceding the meeting, Senator Everett R. Peters and Representatives Charles W. Clabaugh, Ora D. Dillavou, and Leo Pfeffer of the Twenty-fourth Senatorial District, General Assembly of Illinois, and their wives were guests of honor of the Board at luncheon. 76S
