such construction work as the University may be required to do toward the building of open drainage ditches. On July 13, 1944, the Executive Committee made an additional appropriation of $19,200 to provide for a closed tile for a portion of one of the three drainage outlets. Further consideration of this matter has given rise to difficulties in negotiations with property owners and has emphasized the disadvantages of an open ditch even for a part of the distance. Professor J. J. Doland, Supervising Engineer, has recommended that provision be made for a closed tile for the entire distance. An additional appropriation of $15,000, allowing for the use of balances in previous appropriations, including the unused balance in the legislative appropriation of $250,000 for land, is required. An appropriation of $15,000 from the General Reserve Fund for additional expense of drainage of the Airport is recommended. O n motion of Mr. Davis, this appropriation was made as recommended, by the following vote: Aye, M r . Davis, M r . Fornof, M r s . Grigsby, Mr. Jensen, Mr. Karraker, M r . Livingston, M r . McKelvey; no, none; absent, M r . Green, D r . Luken, D r . Meyer, M r . Nickell.
