1946] UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS 1123 EXECUTIVE, SESSION The Board in executive session considered the following matters presented for the President of the University. LEAVE OF ABSENCE FOR PROFESSOR C. L. METCALF (1) I recommend that Dr. C. L. Metcalf be relieved of his duties and responsibilities as Professor and H e a d of the Department of Entomology from the end of the second semester, June 15, to the end of the academic year on August 31, 1946, and that he be given full pay for that period since he will have completed the work of the academic year. I further recommend that Professor Metcalf be given a leave of absence on full pay for six months from September 1, 1946, or so much thereof as may be necessary. These leaves are recommended because of Professor Metcalf's health. Mr. Janata presented this matter. On motion of Mr. Williamson, these recommendations were adopted. SPECIAL APPROPRIATIONS FOR NONRECURRING EXPENDITURES (2) T h e Committee on Special Appropriations and Nonrecurring Expenditures recommends assignments from the General Reserve Fund for the following purposes: Equipment for the College of Veterinary Medicine $ 5 000 Remodeling and equipment in the Chicago Colleges 20 000 Mr. Morey presented this matter. On motion of Mr. Fornof, these appropriations were made as recommended, by the following vote: Aye, Mr. Davis, Mr. Fornof, Mrs. Grigsby, Mr. Livingston, Mr. McKelvey, Mr. Nickell, Mr. Williamson; no, none; absent, Mr. Green, Dr. Luken, Mr. McLaughlin, Dr. Meyer.
