432 BOARD OF TRUSTEES [August 5 quarter after the adjournment of the next General Assembly, for the ordinary and contingent expenses of the Research and Educational Hospitals and the Institute for Crippled Children in Chicago, the sum of one million, one hundred forty-two thousand, nine hundred thirty-eight dollars ($1,142,938) payable out of the General Revenue Fund for the following objects and purposes: For For For For For salaries and wages $ 821 080 office expenses, including printing and publications.. 11 02O travel 400 operation 289 294 repairs, equipment, and minor improvements 21 144 Total $1 142 938 Sec. 2. There is hereby appropriated to the University of Illinois for the two years beginning July 1, 1941, and until the expiration of the first fiscal quarter after the adjournment of the next General Assembly, the sum of three hundred seventy-nine thousand dollars ($379,000) payable out of the General Revenue Fund for the following objects and purposes: For remodeling of Research and Educational Hospitals in Chicago and equipment $254 000 For purchase of land for future use in the development of the Research and Educational Hospitals and related activities in Chicago 125 000 Total $379 000 Sec. 3. There is hereby appropriated to the University of Illinois for the two years beginning July 1, 1941, and until the expiration of the first fiscal quarter after the adjournment of the next General Assembly, the sum of three hundred fifty thousand dollars ($350,000) payable out of the University Income F u n d for the purpose of meeting salaries and wages, office expense, operation, repairs and equipment, and minor improvements expenses of the Institute for Juvenile Research and Neuropsychiatric Institute in Chicago, for services to be provided to these institutions by the University of Illinois and reimbursed to it by the Department of Public Welfare out of appropriations made to the Department of Public Welfare for these purposes. Sec. 4. The appropriations provided herein are made pursuant to an agreement between the Department of Public Welfare and the University of Illinois for the joint and cooperative operation of said hospitals, as authorized by "An Act in Relation to the Founding and Operation of Research and Educational Hospitals of the State of Illinois," approved July 3, 1931. Sec. 5. T h e appropriations made in this Act shall be subject to all the provisions, conditions, and limitations of an Act entitled, "An Act in relation to State finance," approved June 10, 1919, in force July 1, 1919, as amended.
