T h e appropriation made in this section shall be subject to all the provisions, conditions, and limitations of an Act entitled, "An Act in relation to State finance," approved J u n e 10, 1919, in force July 1, 1919, as amended. Sec. 9. T h e appropriations for salaries and wages in sections I and 8 of this Act are to be expended for the following positions and purposes and in accordance with the following conditions: ( a ) Full and part-time assistants, clerks, typists, technicians, nurses, dietitians, residents, lecturers, residence hall social directors, research assistants, instructors, laboratory helpers, toolroom attendants, domestics, cooks, laborers, book binders, estimators, print shop employees, and supply officers, not to exceed 300, at the annual full-time rate of not to exceed $1,000. (b) Full and part-time administrative assistants, assistant professors, associates, instructors, assistants, lecturers, cataloguers, book binders, nurses, pharmacists, research assistants, office managers, stenographers, typists, clerks, accountants, technicians, residence hall social directors, museum custodians, laboratory assistants, mechanicians, storekeepers, stores clerks, laboratory helpers, toolroom attendants, firemen, print shop employees, telephone operators, technicians, chemists, supervisors, domestics, cooks, and laborers, not to exceed 1,100 at the annual full-time rate of not to exceed $1,500. (c) Full and part-time administrative assistants, associate professors, assistant professors, associates, instructors, assistants, assistant librarians, cataloguers, lecturers, research assistants, actuaries, statisticians, office managers, stenographers, clerks, typists, accountants, designers, engineers, technicians, chemists, mechanicians, nurses, residents, storekeepers, stores clerks, laboratory helpers, toolroom attendants, draftsmen, superintendents, laborers, foremen, firemen, policemen, maintenance and repair helpers, welders, machinists, and water station operators, not to exceed 550, at the annual full-time rate of not to exceed $2,000. ( d ) Full and part-time administrative assistants, associate professors, assistant professors, associates, instructors, assistants, librarians, assistant librarians, secretaries, chief clerks, actuaries, statisticians, accountants, stenographers, designers, engineers, technicians, nurses, residents, draftsmen, supervisors, superintendents, mechanicians, laborers, foremen, carpenters, engineers, electricians, estimators, maintenance and repair helpers, painters, plumbers, print shop employees, steamfitters, and tinners, not to exceed 310, at the annual fulltime rate of not to exceed $2,500. ( e ) Full and part-time administrative officers, administrative assistants, associate professors, assistant professors, associates, instructors, assistants, librarians, assistant librarians, accountants, secretaries, designers, engineers, technicians, residence hall social directors, residence hall managers, artists, editors, glaziers, draftsmen, superintendents, chief clerks, actuaries, statisticians, office managers, foremen, carpenters, print shop employees, electricians, mechanics, painters, plumbers, steamfitters, machinists, and tinners, not to exceed 270, at the annual full-time rate of not to exceed $3,000. ( f ) Full and part-time administrative officers, administrative assistants, professors, associate professors, assistant professors, associates, instructors, librarians, designers, engineers, community consultants, dietitians, superintendents, foremen, and brick masons, not to exceed 260, at the annual full-time rate of not to exceed $4,000 each. (g) Full and part-time administrative officers, administrative assistants, professors, associate professors, assistant professors, associates, supervising architects, designers, engineers, and superintendents of dispensaries, not to exceed 160, at the annul full-time rate of not to exceed $5,000 each. ( h ) Full and part-time deans, directors, administrative officers, administrative assistants, professors, associate professors, and associates, not to exceed 85, at the annual full-time rate of not to exceed $6,000 each. (i) Full and part-time deans, directors, administrative officers, administrative assistants, professors, and assistant professors, not to exceed 45, at the annual full-time rate of not to exceed $7,000 each. ( j ) Full and part-time deans, directors, administrative officers, and professors, not to exceed 20, at the annual full-time rate of not to exceed $8,000 each.
