SOCIETY OF WOMEN ENGINEERS Tuesday, May 1, 1979 7s00 p.m. 269 Illini Union Vice-President Cindy Dahl called the meeting to order at 7:15 p.m. An introduction of the new officers followed. Projects for the fall semester are underway. Chairmen are needed for both":Engineer's Night and Big/Little Sister Picnic. Plans for the picnic on August 26 include holding it at the Stock Pavilion with the meal being catered by Kentucky Fried Chicken. Cindy reported attendance at the Mom's Day Banquet held April twenty-first was approximately sixty. She then presented the survey which had been prepared for Mom's Day, The study showed who and what influenced women to become engineers along with their plans for the future. Anyone with a questionaire was asked to please return it so the survey would cover a l a g : . number of people. <rerThe meeting was turned over to Paul Velasquez and Chuck Washington from Inland Steel Company, Due to a misunderstanding with the Union, we had no film projector for our speakers to use. They spoke on the making of steel and the managing of the company. Both stated the need for engineers in all aspects of the corporation. The meeting was adjoured at 8sl0 to Papa Dels for pizzacourtesy of Inland Steel, Attendance was approximately twenty. Respectfully submitted,
