Copies of President Kennedy's letter a n d of M r . Clement's reply h a d been sent to all Trustees in advance of today's meeting, a n d copies have been filed with the Secretary of t h e Board. T h e subject of t h e letter was discussed a n d University policies relating thereto were discussed.

H U L L HOUSE RESTORATION

President Clement announced that Major Lenox R. Lohr, President of the Museum of Science a n d Industry and Chairman of the University of Illinois Citizens Committee, has accepted the post of General Chairman of the J a n e A d d a m s Memorial F u n d of the University of Illinois campaign for the restoration of Hull House. M r . C. E . Flynn reported informally on the status of the fund-raising campaign.

MEDICAL CENTER U N I O N

Dr. Joseph S. Begando made an informal report on the status of t h e campaign for funds for the Medical Center Union Building. H e announced that M r . Donald R. Grimes of the Class of 1928, a n d President of the Independent Grocers Alliance, has accepted the post of Chairman of the Committee to raise funds for this building.

F U T U R E BOARD MEETINGS

President Clement announced that the next regular meeting will be held on Wednesday, September 18, 1963, in Urbana, at a place a n d according to a schedule to be arranged by him and the Secretary of t h e Board. O n motion of M r . Williamson, the Board voted to change the date of the regular October meeting from the third Wednesday to Saturday, October 26, 1963, to be held in U r b a n a . Consideration was also given to changing the date of the regular November meeting from the third Wednesday. I t was the consensus of the Trustees that Tuesday, November 26, 1963, be tentatively r e served for that meeting, subject to a final decision later. SECRETARY'S REPORTS The Secretary presented for record the following lists: appointments to the faculty made by the President; appointments of fellows; resignations, cancellations, declinations, and termination; leaves of absence; changes in sabbatical leaves of absence; cancellation of sabbatical leaves of absence.
