BOARD OF TRUSTEES

Trustees, it is necessary for The Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois to take said land and acquire title thereto through the exercise by it of the right of eminent domain conferred upon it by law and to have the compensation to be paid by it to the owners thereof and any and all other persons who may have any right, title or interest in and to said land determined in the manner provided by law for the exercise of said right and power of eminent domain; and Be It, and It Is Hereby Further Resolved by this Board of Trustees of The Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois that the necessary and appropriate action be taken for the acquisition of title to said property by said The Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois and to have the compensation to be paid therefor determined by the institution and prosecution to completion of a proceeding in eminent domain in a court of competent jurisdiction and that the Legal Counsel of the University be, and he is hereby, authorized to proceed accordingly, to institute and prosecute an eminent domain proceeding in the name and on behalf of The Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois for the acquisition of said land and the determination of the compensation to be paid by it therefore, and to employ such special legal counsel, appraisers, and others as he may deem necessary or desirable to assist him in the institution and prosecution of said preceding.

On motion of Mr. Swain the foregoing resolution was adopted by the following vote: Aye, Mr. Clement, Mr. Johnston, Mr. Jones, Mr. Pogue, Mr. Swain, Mrs. Watkins, Mr. Williamson; no, none; absent, Mr. Dilliard, Mr. Hughes, Mr. Kerner, Mr. Page. On motion of Mrs. Watkins the Board adjourned.
