CONTRACT FOR SIDEWALKS AND PAVING rN GRADUATE STUDENT RESIDENCE HALLS AREA

(25) The Director of the Physical Plant and the Vice-President and Comptroller recommend award of a contract for $8,002,58 to Wascher Brothers Concrete Obstruction, Urbana, the lowest bidder, for the construction of sidewalks, paving, and minor gentral work in the Graduate Student Residence Halls (SG-2) area. _ Funds are available in the construction account for this building, -which is beingfinancedby a revenue bond issue. 1 concur. On motion of Mr. Pogue, this contract was awarded by the following vote: Aye, Mr. Clement, Mr. Dilliard, Mr. Harewood, Mr. Hughes, Mr. Johnston, Mr. Fogue, Mr. Swain, M r s . CONTRACT FOR CONSULTING ARCHITECTURAL SERVICES

(36) The present contract authorized by the Board of Trustees with the architectural firm of Richardson, Severns, Scheeler, and Associates, Champaign, for consulting and architectural services, expired July 31, 1961. The Director of the Physical Plant and the Vice-President arid Comptroller recommend continuation of the employment of this firm on a cost-plus basis for one year from August 1, 1961, on the following assignments as directed by the Physical Plant Department: Cafli^w Planning at Urbana-Ckampaign I. Continuation of studies on the general campus development plan, including the development of detailed programs for the individual colleges. 1 Preliminary studies for further development in the area south of Florida Avenue. 1 Continuation of planning studies for development beyond 1961. 4. Continuation of studies on zoning. ':•• Site selection studies for new building projects. 6. Participation in weekly planning meetings. Estimated cost of services, $35,000, Planning at Chicago Professional Colleges 1 Continuation of studies on the campus development plan, I. Farther development of programs and studies on reassignment of space to the various colleges and departments. 3. Studies on projects to be financed from gifts or grants, Estimated cost of services, $12,000. Estimated total cost, $47,000. The terms of employment will be the same as those under the present contract, on the basis of itemized payrolls plus 100 per cent for the firm's overhead costs ina fees. The costs of these services will be charged against the appropriation for Plans and specifications. I concur. On motion of Mr. Johnston, this contract was authorized.
