Medical Research Laboratory, Replacement of Floor Covering in Four Rooms — Redlin, Inc., Schiller Park, Illinois 2 538 Radioactive materials are used in these rooms and it is necessary :o replace the present floor covering to prevent radioactive contamination of the concrete floor beneath which would make these areas unusable after a period of exposure. Funds are available in the Physical Plant Department budget. I concur. O n m o t i o n of M r s . EMPLOYMENT OF ARCHITECTS AND ENGINEERS (14) The Director of the Physical Plant and the Vice-President and Comptroller recommend authorization of employment of architects and engineers for the following assignments and on the terms indicated: Rehabilitation Center—Ganster and Hennighausen, Waukegan, on the basis of a fee of 5i4 per cent of the construction contract costs, this firm to assume the costs and responsibility for office supervision and the Physical Plant Department to assume responsibility for supervision of construction. Veterinary Medicine Research Annex Alterations and Addition — Brown, Manthei, Davis, and Mullins, Champaign, Consulting Engineers, for complete mechanical and electrical engineering services in the design of the alterations and addition to this building, on the cost-plus contract basis: $7.50 per hour rate for services of members of the firm for time actually spent by them on the project, plus salaries and wages of other engineering and office personnel at the regular hourly wage rates paid by the firm for their work on the basis of time actually put into the w o r k ; plus an allowance of 100 per cent to be added to the cost of the foregoing services for overhead expenses of the firm and its commission. Orchard Downs Housing Addition — Lundeen and Hilfinger, Bloomington, on the basis of: For site work (excluding buildings) —5Vi per cent of the construction costs F o r the buildings (including the necessary changes on the units to be duplicated) —2J4 per cent of the construction costs. Office supervision of the project will be the responsibility of Lundeen and Hilfinger and construction supervision will be by the Physical Plant Department. T h e project will be financed through a revenue bond issue; pending sale of bonds, the funds will be advanced from Housing Division funds for the architectural fees. Acoustic Consulting Services for Congress Circle Campus — Bolt, Beranek, and Newman, Inc., Downers Grove, on an hourly basis according to the following schedule or rate: Senior Consultants, $25.00 or $35.00; Consultants, $16.00 or $20.00; Staff Assistants, $9.00 or $12.50. Direct expenses such as travel, long distance calls, electrical equipment use charges, and printing charges will be billed in addition to the above charge. These firms have been recommended for the specific assignments by the Advisory Committee on Selection of Architects and Engineers. The Committee on Buildings and Grounds has also been consulted and has recommended approval. I concur in these recommendations.

On motion of Mr. Hughes, these recommendations were approved.

CONTRACTS FOR MINOR BUILDING ALTERATIONS AND REPAIRS (15) The Director of the Physical Plant and the Vice-President and Comptroller recommend authorization of cost-plus contracts with the following contractors for minor building alterations, repairs, and construction work for the period April 1, 1962, through June 30, 1963: General — C.
