This being a remodeling project, the Director of the Physical Plant and the Vice-President and Comptroller recommend that it be done under the University's standing cost-plus fixed fee contracts with the following contractors, at the prices indicated: General — Clarence H . ADDITION TO CONTRACT FOR PENNSYLVANIA AVENUE RESIDENCE HALL (8) The Director of the Physical Plant and the Vice-President and Comptroller recommend an increase of $53,830 in the contract with Kuhne-Simmons Company, Inc. for construction of the Pennsylvania Avenue Residence Hall to provide for the realignment and paving of the courtyard, including street lighting and some paving on Pennsylvania Avenue, and for removal of temporary buildings in Illini Village. These improvements were included as alternates in the original bids taken but were not accepted when the contract was awarded because it was not certain that funds would be available. The project is now approximately half completed and very few contract additions have been necessary, so that adequate funds are available. I concur. O n m o t i o n of M r . REPORT ON LAND ACQUISITIONS (9) The Director of the Physical Plant and the Vice-President and Comptroller submit the following report of property purchases authorized by the Board since the last report (Board meeting, January 18, 1961) and now completed. Those indicated by asterisks were purchased for the University by the University of Illinois Foundation. The others have been purchased directly by the University.
