names for the two Chicago campuses. After consultation, they presented recommendations, which in turn were reviewed by the Executive Committee of the University Council. Consistent with the reactions which I have received, I propose that the following names be officially adopted: the University of Illinois at Congress Circle, Chicago, and the University of Illinois at the Medical Center, Chicago. The Committee on Buildings and Grounds has previously considered these names and concurs in the recommendation for their adoption. O n m o t i o n of M r . DESIGNS OF NEW BUILDINGS

(15) The Director of the Physical Plant submits for approval by the Board of Trustees designs for the Illinois Street Residence Halls for Single Students, to be constructed in the area between Green Street and Illinois Street, east of the present student-staff apartments, and for the Central Receiving Station. Director C. S. Havens and Mr. Ambrose Richardson, Consulting Architect, discussed these designs and the Trustees inspected the models.

On motion of Mr. Swain, the Board approved these designs.

EXCHANGE O F LAND AT CHICAGO P R O F E S S I O N A L C O L L E G E S (16) The Board of Trustees has authorized the exchange of University land at 1825 West Taylor Street, Chicago, for the land at 1933 West Polk Street, Chicago, owned by the Medical Center Commission. It is now necessary to adopt a formal resolution to implement this exchange. Resolution WHEREAS, Medical Center Commission, a body politic and corporate, duly organized and existing under and by virtue of the laws of the State of Illinois, hereinafter referred to as "Commission," has offered to convey title to the hereinafter-described property now owned by it and located at 1933 West Polk Street, Chicago, Illinois, to The Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois, a public corporation of the State of Illinois, hereinafter referred to as "University," in exchange for the conveyance by University of title to the hereinafterdescribed property now owned by it and located at 1825 West Taylor Street, Chicago, Illinois, to Commission upon the following terms and conditions: 1. Each party will convey title to the other in fee simple absolute free and clear of any and all liens and encumbrances. 2. Each party will funish to the other an Owners Title Insurance Policy in the sum of Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000) insuring title in fee simple subject to the printed general exceptions appearing on Chicago Title and Trust Company's Owners Title Insurance Policy Form A and a special exception that since both properties are located within the Medical Center District created by "An act in relation to the establishment of a medical center district in the city of Chicago and for the control and management thereof," approved June 4, 1941, the policies shall be subject to the provisions of said Act and amendments thereto. 3. Possession shall be delivered, and title shall be conveyed by quit-claim deed, by each party to the other simultaneously and on or before December 29, 1961. Now, Therefore, Be It and It Hereby Is Resolved, by this Board of Trustees of The Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois, a public corporation of the State of Illinois, that the Comptroller and Secretary of this University be, and they hereby are, authorized and directed, to execute, acknowledge, and deliver, in the name of, and in behalf of, this University, and under its Corporate Seal, a Quit-Claim Deed and such other documents in connection therewith as said Comptroller and Secretary may deem necessary or desirable in order to convey to Medical Center Commission, a body politic and corporate, title to the following-described property, viz.: Lot 36 of Yeaton and Taylor's Subdivision of Lots 5, 6, and 7 in Codwise's Subdivision of the West Half of the Southeast Quarter (except 1 chain and 37 links all along the West side thereof) of Section 18, Township 39 North, Range 14 East of the Third Principal Meridian, situated in the County of Cook and State of Illinois ;
