HEADSHIP OF THE DEPARTMENT OF VETERINARY PHYSIOLOGY A N D PHARMACOLOGY

(2) T h e Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine recommends the appointment of Dr. Roger P . Link as Professor of Veterinary Physiology and Pharmacology on indefinite tenure and as Head of the Department from September 16, 1961, through August 31, 1963; and the Director of the Agricultural Experiment Station recommends his appointment as Professor of Veterinary Research in the Agricultural Experiment Station on indefinite tenure beginning September 16, 1961; both appointments being on a twelve-month service basis, at a total annual salary rate of $14,500. Dr. Link has been serving as Acting Head of the Department of Veterinary Physiology and Pharmacology since the retirement of Professor Jesse Sampson in February, 1961. T h e recommendation for his appointment was initiated by a search committee representing the College of Veterinary Medicine and three other colleges and has been submitted after consultation with all members of the Department of professorial rank. T h e recommendation is concurred in by the Dean of the Graduate College and the Executive Vice-President and Provost. I recommend approval.

On motion of Mr. Hughes, this appointment was approved.

APPOINTMENTS TO T H E FACULTY (3) T h e following new appointments to the faculty of the rank of Assistant Professor and above, and involving tenure, have been approved since the previous meeting of the Board of Trustees. 1. CHARLES F . ABILDGAARD, Assistant Professor of Pediatrics, College of Medicine, beginning September 1, 1961, on three-fourths time, at an annual salary of $6,000 (DY75). 2. A E I ADINI, Assistant Professor of Civil Engineering, beginning September 1, 1961, at an annual salary of $6,800 ( D ) . 3. MARILYN MAGDALENE DUNSING, Associate Professor of Family Economics, Department of Home Economics, beginning February 1, 1962, at an annual salary of $12,000 ( B Y ) . 4. W I N S T O N ELTING, Assistant Professor in the Department of Architecture and Art, Chicago Undergraduate Division, beginning September 1, 1961, at an annual salary of $9,250 ( D ) . 5. MARIE A. FERGUSON, Counselor, Student Counseling Service, and Assistant Professor of Psychology in Social Sciences, Chicago Undergraduate Division, beginning September 1, 1961, on one-half time, at an annual salary of $4,000 (DY50). 6.
