BOARD OF TRUSTEES

On motion of Mr. Hughes, this recommendation was approved by the following vote: Aye, Mr. Clement, Mr. Grimes, Mr. Hahn, Mr. Hughes, Mr. Johnston, Mr. Jones, Mr. Pogue, Mr. Swain; no, none; absent, Governor Kerner, Mr. Page and Dr. Weatherly.

ACQUISITION OF PROPERTIES. URBAN A (42) The University of Illinois Foundation, at the request of the University, has acquired a number of properties which are required in the long-range plan for expansion at Urbana. The Director of the Physical Plant, the Vice-President and Comptroller, and the Executive Vice-President and Provost recommend acquisition of the following properties from the Foundation at the prices indicated, plus miscellaneous costs incurred in the acquisition of the properties: 1109 West Oregon Street, Urbana $ 34 000 00 1111 West Oregon Street, Urbana 62 000 00 1114 West Nevada Street, Urbana 125 000 00 607 East Daniel Street, Champaign 185 000 00 909 West Nevada Street, Urbana 40 000 00 1110 West Main Street, Urbana 55 000 00 1002 West Green Street, Urbana 225 000 00 801 South Wright Street, Champaign 316 515 00 904 West Oregon Street, Urbana 40 000 00 $1 082 515 00 Funds in the amount of approximately $475,000 are available in the 1965-67 state capital appropriations, subject to release by the Governor. The remainder of the purchases will be deferred until the 1967-69 state capital appropriations for land are available and have been released by the Governor. I concur.

On motion of Mr. Swain, this recommendation was approved by the following vote: Aye, Mr. Clement, Mr. Grimes, Mr. Hahn, Mr. Hughes, Mr. Johnston, Mr. Jones, Mr. Pogue, Mr. Swain; no, none; absent, Governor Kerner, Mr. Page, Dr. Weatherly. On motion of Mr. Swain, the Board adjourned. TOUR AND BOARD COMMITTEE MEETINGS Following lunch, members of the Board and other University officers toured the Materials Research Laboratory. Board Committees on Buildings and Grounds, Finance, and General Policy met during the afternoon.
