EMPLOYMENT OF ARCHITECTS FOR SPEECH AND HEARING CLINIC AND RESEARCH BUILDING. URBAN A (30) T h e Director of the Physical Plant and the Vice-President and Comptroller recommend the employment of the firm of Ezra Gordon Jack M. Levin & Associates, Chicago, for complete architectural and engineering services for the Speech and Hearing Clinic and Research Building at a fee of 6 per cent of the construction costs. T h e initial authorization to this firm will be for the preparation of grant application material to be submitted to the federal government and private foundations at a cost not to exceed $8,200. The next deadline for submitting applications is September, 1967. Funds have previously been made available for this work. This recommendation has been approved by the Advisory Committee on the Selection of Architects and Engineers and the Committee on Buildings and Grounds. I concur. O n m o t i o n of M r . EASEMENT TO NATURAL GAS PIPELINE COMPANY OF AMERICA T H R O U G H ALLERTON ESTATE (31) The Vice-President and Comptroller recommends that the Natural Gas Pipeline Company of America be granted an easement for the construction of a thirty-six-inch steel gas line through Allerton Farm No. 2 and Department of Forestry land. T h e Company will pay the University $5.00 per rod for a total of approximately $770.50 for said easement. The Department of Agricultural Economics, which manages the farm, and the Department of Forestry concur. I recommend adoption of the following resolution. Resolution Authorizing 36" Steel G a s L i n e E a s e m e n t to N a t u r a l Gas Pipeline C o m p a n y of America t h r o u g h A l l e r t o n E s t a t e Be It, and It Hereby Is Resolved by The Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois, a public corporation of the State of Illinois, that the Comptroller and the Secretary of this public corporation be, and they hereby are, authorized to execute, acknowledge and deliver in the name and on behalf of this corporation such instruments of conveyance, contract, or other document or documents as to them may seem necessary or desirable in order to grant to Natural Gas Pipeline Company of America, a Delaware corporation, hereinafter referred to as "Grantee", its successors and assigns, the right and easement to construct, reconstruct, operate, maintain, repair, alter, replace, move and remove a 36" steel gas line and other equipment appurtenant thereto under, through and across the land hereinafter described and the right of ingress to and egress therefrom; the rights and easement granted to be limited to the extent that this public corporation has the present right and capacity to grant the same, and in consideration of the payment by Grantee to this corporation of the sum of Five Dollars per rod for a total of approximately Seven Hundred Seventy Dollars and Fifty Cents ($770.50). Grantee shall agree to repair any damage caused to property of this corporation by the construction, reconstruction, operation, maintenance, repairing, alteration, moving and removing of said gas main and to indemnify this corporation and its representatives from liability in connection with Grantee's activities. The right-of-way easement shall remain in full force and effect from the date granted and for so long thereafter as said gas transportation line is continued in service and has not been abandoned or discontinued. Upon termination of the easement Grantee shall peaceably surrender possession of said premises to this corporation and full and complete title then shall remain in this corporation free and clear of said easement and without necessity of re-entry or demand. The right-of-way easement shall be over the following-described property: T h e Right-of-Way herein granted shall have a width of 75 feet being 371/2 feet on each side of a centerline described as follows: Beginning at a point in the centerline of the Sangamon River 400+ feet East of the West line of Section 14, Township 18 North, Range 5 East, thence in a Northeasterly direction a distance of 154.1 rods to a point of exit in the North line of the Southwest Quarter of said Section 14, 416 feet East of the West line of said Section
