MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS July 27, 1966 The July meeting of The Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois was held in the Chicago Circle Center, Chicago, Illinois, on Wednesday, July 27, 1966, beginning at 10:30 a.m. President Howard W. Clement called the meeting to order and asked the Secretary to call the roll. The following members of the Board were present: Mr. Howard W. Clement, Mr. Irving Dilliard, Mr. Earl M. Hughes, Mr. Wayne A. Johnston, Mr. Theodore A. Jones, Mr. Ray Page, Mr. Harold Pogue, Mrs. Frances B. Watkins, Mr. Kenney E. Williamson. Governor Otto Kerner and Mr. Timothy W. Swain were absent. Also present were President David D. Henry; Executive VicePresident and Provost Lyle H. Lanier; Vice-President Norman A. Parker, Chicago Circle; Vice-President Joseph S. Begando, Medical Center; Mr. Vernon L. Kretschmer, Associate Director of the Physical Plant; Mr. James J. Costello, Legal Counsel; Mr. C. E. Flynn, Assistant to the President and Director of Public Information; Mr. Earl W. Porter, Assistant to the President and Associate Secretary to the Board; Mr. Donald C. Neville, Assistant to the Director of the Physical Plant; and the officers of the Board, Mr. H. O. Farber, Comptroller, and Mr. A. J. Janata, Secretary. 1
