WRIGHT, Associate Professor of Civil Engineering It is further recommended that funds for these stipends and for such other expenses as can not be met from regular departmental budgets be assigned from the General Reserve. Through a grant from Standard Oil (Indiana) Foundation, Special Awards of $1,000 each will be made to the three individuals whose completed projects are judged to be the most outstanding in terms of probable contribution to undergraduate education. T h e nominees for these Special Awards will be selected on the basis of final reports submitted at the end of the summer session, and they will be recommended to the Board of Trustees for approval in October. I concur.

On motion of M r . Grimes, these recommendations were approved and the requested assignment of funds were made by the following vote: Aye, Mr. Clement, M r . Grimes, Mr. H a h n , Mr. Hughes, Mr. Johnston, M r . Jones, M r . Page, M r . Pogue, Mr. Swain, D r . Weatherly; no, none; absent, Governor Kerner. Mr. Jones asked if a summary of the findings of this program were available and could be provided at the next meeting of the Board. It was agreed that such an analysis would be provided.

SABBATICAL LEAVES OF ABSENCE, 1 9 6 7 - 6 8 (7) It is recommended that the following members of the faculty be given sabbatical leaves of absence during the academic year 1967-68 in accordance with the provisions of the University of Illinois Statutes and on the terms and for the periods indicated. The programs of research, study, and travel for which leaves are requested have been examined by the University Research Board, which advises the President in such matters, and by the Executive Vice-President and Provost, who also recommends approval. College of Agriculture Department of Agricultural Economics ROBERT G. F. SPITZK, Professor of Agricultural Economics, one year beginning September 1, 1967, one-half pay. Department of Agricultural Engineering ROGER R. YOERGER, Professor of Agricultural Engineering, six months beginning February 1, 1968, full pay. Department of Agronomy HENRY H . HADLEY, Professor of Plant Genetics, six months beginning November 1, 1967, full pay. RICHARD H . HAGEMAN, Professor of Plant Physiology, one year, one-half pay. BURNS R. SABEY, Associate Professor of Soil Microbiology, one year beginning July 1, 1967. one-half pay.
