tion such instruments of conveyance, contract, or other document or documents as to them may seem necessary or desirable in order to grant to Illinois Power Company, an Illinois Corporation, herinafter referred to as "Grantee", its successors and assigns, the right and easement to erect, reconstruct, operate, patrol, maintain, renew and remove electric transmission and distribution lines, and other equipment appurtenant thereto, for the transmission and distribution of electric energy through, over and across certain lands hereinafter described and the right of ingress to and egress therefrom; the rights and easement granted to be limited to the extent that this public Corporation has the present right and capacity to grant the same. Grantee shall agree to repair any damage caused to property of this Corporation by the erection, reconstruction, operation, patroling, maintenance, renewing and removing of said electric transmission and distribution lines, and to indemnify this Corporation and its representatives from liability in connection with Grantee's activities. The right-of-way easement shall remain in full force and effect from the date granted and for so long thereafter as said electric transmission and distribution lines are continued in service and have not been abandoned and discontinued. Upon termination of the easement Grantee shall peaceably surrender possession of said premises to this Corporation and full and complete title then shall remain in this Corporation free and clear of said easement and without necessity of re-entry or demand. The right-of-way easement shall be over the following-described property: Situated in the State of Illinois, the County of Champaign, and being a part of the South One-half (S y£) of the South One-half (S 1/9 of Section Twenty-four (24), Township Nineteen North (T-19-N), and Range Eight East (R-8-E) of the Third Principal Meridian, and being more fully bounded and described as follows: A strip of land being the east 15.0 feet of the southwest 14 of the southeast 14 of said Section 24 except the north 200.0 feet of the above described tract of land and a strip of land being the west 15.0 feet of the southeast VA of the southeast 14 of said Section 24 except the north 80.0 feet of the above described tract of land.

On motion of Mr. Johnston, the foregoing resolution was adopted by the following vote: Aye, Mr. Clement, Mr. Dilliard, Air. Hughes, Mr. Johnston, Mr. Jones, Mr. Page, Mr. Pogue, Mr. Swain, Mrs. Watkins, Mr. Williamson; no, none; absent, Governor Kerner.

EASEMENT TO ILLINOIS POWER COMPANY FOR A TWELVE-INCH GAS MAIN, URBANA (20) The Illinois Power Company, as part of its long-range program for gas distribution for the Urbana-Champaign area, proposes to install a twelve-inch pressure gas main adjacent to the east right-of-way of the Illinois Central Railroad. The property is west of the Mental Health Center complex and Firemanship Training Facilities. The Company proposes to pay $5.00 per rod for an easement and has also agreed to abandon an existing diagonal easement over the property within ten years. A request is also being submitted to the University of Illinois Foundation for the granting of an easement over its property immediately south, under the same terms and conditions. Accordingly, the Director of the Physical Plant and the Vice-President and Comptroller recommend that the Board authorize the granting of the easement over this property for the installation of the twelve-inch gas main. I concur and recommend adoption of the following resolution. Resolution Authorizing 12" H i g h Pressure Gas Main Easement to Illinois Power Company Over Percival Property and Adjacent to the East Right-of-Way Line of the Illinois Central Railroad Be It, and It Hereby Is Resolved by The Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois, a public corporation of the State of Illinois, that the Comptroller and the Secretary of this corporation be, and they hereby are, authorized to execute, acklowledge and deliver in the name and on behalf of this corporation such instruments of conveyance, contract, or other document or documents as to them may seem necessary or desirable in order to grant to Illinois Power Com-
