J o h n s t o n , t h e p u r c h a s e s a u t h o r i z e d b y t h e P r e s i dent were approved, and the purchases recommended were authorized. LEASE OF QUARTERS FOR DIVISION OF UNIVERSITY EXTENSION AND COOPERATIVE EXTENSION SERVICE (10) The Dean of the Division of University Extension, the Director of the Cooperative Extension Service, and the Vice-President and Comptroller recommend authorization of a lease with the LaSalle Madison Hotel Company of rooms on the second floor of the LaSalle Hotel, 10 North LaSalle Street, Chicago, for offices for the period from September 1, 1966, through June 30, 1967, at a rental of $13,060 for the period. The lessor will pay necessary remodeling and redecorating costs. The additional area in the LaSalle Hotel will enable the people assigned to the new space to use some of the facilities available in the presently rented lllini Center, and will be highly desirable for the Cooperative Extension Service and Division of University Extension activities involved. CONTRACT FOR BUS SERVICE FOR URBANA-CHAMPAIGN C A M P U S

(11) The Director of Purchases and the Vice-President and Comptroller recommend authorization of a contract with the Champaign-Urbana City Lines, Inc., Champaign, Illinois, for a chartered bus service for students, faculty, staff, and other authorized personnel, for the period September 1, 1966, through August 31, 1967, at an estimated total expenditure of $72,796. Bids were invited from five other transportation companies, but the Champaign-Urbana City Lines, Inc., is the only bidder, at prices of $6.00 per hour, with fare collection, and $5.85 per hour, without fare collection. It is necessary to continue an orderly intra-campus transportation system to serve students in University housing in outlying areas (such as in Orchard Downs), and staff, to supplement the public transportation system in Urbana-Champaign. The charter bus service on regular schedules (Illi-Bus) will be provided at $6.00 per hour, per bus; special chartered service and the Faculty-Staff bus will be provided, without fare collection, at $5.85 per hour, per bus. The total cost is based on: An estimated 11,511 Illi-Bus hours, less an estimated $22,000 in f a r e s . . $47 066 00 Estimated 3,800 bus hours for Faculty-Staff bus 25 730 00 Estimated Net Total $72 796 00 Funds are available in Housing Division and Auxiliary Services budgets and staff parking fees. Johnston, M r s . W a t k i n s ; no, none; absent, none. BEQUEST OF J O H N I. PARCEL (12) John I. Parcel, a member of the University of Illinois Foundation, died in St. Louis, Missouri, on May 22, 1965. In his Will Mr. Parcel made a bequest to the University of Illinois to be invested in a trust fund, the income to be used "to prosecute research projects, either analytical or experimental, in the field of structural engineering." In the alternative it was provided that the income be used to advance "the educational status of the engineering school of said University." The estate is in probate and the probate is now nearing completion. The Executors of the Estate have advised that a claim against the estate has been filed by the Zeta Psi Educational Foundation in the amount of $6,500, and at
