University of Illinois Foundation to enter into a contract with A & H Materials Testing Corporation, Champaign, for testing of concrete to be used in the construction of the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts. The contract is to be on the basis of unit prices quoted as follows: Concrete cylinder tests for compression $ 3.00/test cylinder Concrete aggregate tests 68.00/test Design of concrete mix 25.00/mix Field inspections and consultations including concrete plant inspection, concrete slump test, concrete air content test, and inspection of placing of concrete 8.00/hour It is estimated that the total cost of the work will be approximately $10,000, which is included in the project budget. CONTRACT FOR INSTALLATION OF VALVES AND ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT IN ABBOTT POWER PLANT AND THE UTILITIES DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM, URBANA (14) The Director of the Physical Plant and the Vice-President and Comptroller recommend the award of the following cost-plus contract for the installation of pressure-reducing valves, associated piping, and thermal insulation in the Abbott Power Plant and in the steam distribution system, bid on the basis of actual cost plus contractor's fees. This equipment will provide the first step in increasing the steam pressure of the campus system. The increased pressure is required in order to service the buildings at the extremes of the utilities distribution system. Per Cent for Per Cent for Per Cent for Estimated Material Labor Subcontracts Fee W. L. Rogers, an individual doing business as Cool-Rite Refrigeration, Urbana 28 32 13 $5 880 00 The total estimated is $30,000. Funds are available in state capital appropriations to the University for 1965-67 and have been released. Attached herewith is a report from the Physical Plant Department, including a schedule of bids received, a copy of which is being filed with the Secretary of the Board for record. I concur. URBANA (15) The Director of the Physical Plant and the Vice-President and Comptroller recommend the award of a contract to the Phillips Roofing Co., Inc., Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, the lowest bidder, on the basis of the unit prices included in the bid proposal for the application of an elastomeric roof coating over the Assembly Hall roof. The maximum cost will not exceed $153,882. Funds are available in the Maintenance Reserve Account of the Assembly Hall. I concur. O n m o t i o n of M r .
