SECRETARY'S REPORT T h e Secretary presented for record appointments to the faculty made by the President; resignations; leaves of absence, and the following cancellations of sabbatical leaves of absence. BARDEEN, JOHN, Professor of Electrical Engineering and of Physics, and in the Center for Advanced Study, Urbana — sabbatical leave of absence granted him for Semester II 1967-68 on full pay, cancelled without prejudice. PETERSON, DONALD R., Professor of Psychology, in charge of Psychology Clinic, Urbana — sabbatical leave of absence granted him for six months from February 1, 1968, cancelled without prejudice. RAKOVE, MILTON, Associate Professor of Political Science, Chicago Circle — sabbatical leave of absence for 1967-68 winter or spring quarter, cancelled without prejudice. ANNOUNCEMENTS FROM T H E PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD

FUTURE BOARD MEETINGS

President Swain reminded the Trustees of the dates of the next three meetings of the Board and the Board set the places of these meetings as follows: April 17, 1968, at Chicago Circle; M a y 15, 1968, at the Medical Center in Chicago; June 19, 1968, at Urbana. RECESS On motion of Mr. Clement, the meeting was recessed and the President of the Board stated that an executive session had been requested and was being ordered following lunch. LUNCHEON AND TOUR D u r i n g the recess, the Trustees and officers of the University had lunch at the Florida Avenue Residence Halls a n d visited these student housing facilities. House officers and staff counselors from the Florida Avenue Residence Halls and the Pennsylvania Avenue Residence Halls and officers of " T h e V I P P r o g r a m " were guests of the Board at lunch. T h e latter reported to the Board on the nature and program of the V I P program.
