On motion of Mr. Grimes, this recommendation was approved.

ESTABLISHMENT OF MUNICIPAL CLERK TRAINING INSTITUTE. URBANA (8) "An Act in relation to training institutes for municipal clerks," passed by the Seventy-fifth General Assembly and approved by the Governor, provides for the establishment by the Trustees of a Municipal Clerk Training Institute and the creation of a "Municipal Clerk Training Institute Committee composed of 3 municipal clerks designated by the Governor and 3 representatives of the University of Illinois designated by the Trustees thereof." The Dean of the Division of University Extension, in consultation with the Dean of the College of Agriculture and the Dean of the College of Commerce and Business Administration, recommends as the University members of the Committee the following •' Professor NORMAN G. KRAUSZ, Department of Agricultural Economics, College of Agriculture Associate Professor GERALD D. BRIGHTON, Department of Accountancy, College of Commerce and Business Administration RICHARD L. ULRICH, Extension Specialist, Short Courses and Conferences, Division of University Extension The Act provides that the members of the Committee serve at the pleasure of the appointing authority and without compensation. T h e Committee has the r e sponsibility for development of a curriculum for the Municipal Clerk Training Institute which is required to offer a course of at least one week's duration for newly-elected or appointed municipal clerks and a refresher course of at least two days' duration. The individuals recommended have agreed to serve if named. The appointments have the endorsement of the Chancellor at the UrbanaChampaign campus and the Executive Vice-President and Provost. I concur.

On motion of Mr. Hahn, this recommendation was approved.

AWARD OF CERTIFIED PUBLIC ACCOUNTANT CERTIFICATES (9) The Committee on Accountancy recommends that the certificate of Certified Public Accountant be awarded to the following candidates who passed the standard written examination given in November, 1967, and who have fulfilled all other legal requirements under Sections 1, 2, and 3 of the Illinois Accountancy Act of 1943 as amended:
