SPECIAL UNDERGRADUATE INSTRUCTIONAL AWARDS FOR PROJECTS COMPLETED DURING THE SUMMER OF 1 9 6 9 (23) At its meeting on February 19, 1969, the Board of Trustees approved a total of fifteen projects, involving nineteen individuals, for support during the summer of 1969 under the program of Undergraduate Instructional Awards. These awards provided a full-time salary for two months to the recipients for work on projects designed to improve the quality of undergraduate instruction (except for those already on year-round salaries, in which case they were given released time for their projects). It was announced at the Board meeting on February 19, 1969, that — if outside funds again become available — special awards of $1,000 each would be made to
