EMPLOYMENT OF ARCHITECT FOR FEASIBILITY STUDY FOR ADDITION TO ASSEMBLY HALL, URBAN A (20) The President of the University, with the concurrence of appropriate administrative officers, recommends the employment of Harrison and Abramovitz, New York, for a feasibility study for an addition to the Assembly Hall, at a fee on the basis of technical timecard costs, plus 150 per cent, plus reimbursement for consulting engineers, plus reimbursable items as approved by the University, with a maximum fee of $15,000. Funds are available from the proceeds of a previous sale of revenue bonds. The Advisory Committee on Architectural and Engineering Services and the Committee on Buildings and Grounds have reviewed and approved this recommendation.

On motion of Mr. Swain, this recommendation was approved by the following vote: Aye, Mr. Clement, Mr. Grimes, Mr. Hahn, Mr. Hughes, Mr. Pogue, Mr. Swain; no, none; absent, Mr. Jones, Governor Ogilvie, Mr. Page, Mr. Steger, Mr. Stone.

EMPLOYMENT OF ENGINEER FOR WATER AND SEWER SYSTEM PROJECTS, URBANA (21) The President of the University, with the concurrence of appropriate administrative officers, recommends the employment of Wilson & Anderson, Champaign, for complete engineering services for alterations, improvements, or extensions of the water and sewer systems at the Urbana-Champaign campus. The projects are to be undertaken as ordered by the Department of Plant and Services during Fiscal Year 1970, at a fee based on Schedule "A" of the recommended fees adopted by the Illinois Society of Professional Engineers, plus field supervision when requested on the basis of actual cost of wages, plus 100 per cent. No work will be authorized until funds budgeted for each project are available and assigned to the engineer under this contract. The Committee on Buildings and Grounds and the Advisory Committee on Architectural and Engineering Services approved this recommendation.

CHANGE ORDER COMPUTER LEASE/ACQUISITION (22) T h e Administrative Data Processing Division is presently leasing a 360/50 computing system from the International Business Machines Corporation under the provisions of an Agreement for IBM Machine Service dated February 13, 1964. This system was installed in May of 1967 to replace and update an earlier generation of equipment and to meet the expanded computer requirements of the Urbana-Champaign campus. Programs (software) have been developed and refined for use with this equipment. T h e current total rental for the Central P r o cessing Unit is $175,602 per annum, including maintenance. International Business Machines Corporation has proposed a change order to the existing Agreement for IBM Machine Service (lease agreement) which would permit the University to acquire title to the Central Processing Unit at a total cost of $533,690.57 with payments to spread over a five-year period, said payments to be subject to the availability of funds and in accordance with the following schedule.
