EMPLOYMENT OF ENGINEERS FOR IMPROVEMENTS AT UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS-WILLARD AIRPORT (4) The President of the University, with the concurrence of the Vice President and Comptroller and the Director of the Institute of Aviation, recommends the employment of J. M. Audd & Associates, Springfield, Illinois, for engineering services required in the design and installation of lights and signs for the taxiway to Runway 13-31 at the University of Illinois-Willard Airport. The proposed fee is in accordance with Schedule B of the "Manual of Practice for Professional Engineers in Private Practice" (Manual I I I ) as approved and published by the Illinois Society of Professional Engineers. The total estimated fee amounts to $9,300. The actual fee will be based on actual costs of the project. Funds are temporarily available from Airport Operations for payment to the engineers until permanent financing is obtained from a grant that has been tentatively offered by the Federal Aviation Administration, Illinois Project 69A-11-471, F A A Project 9-11-026-07. Professional engineering services are required in connection with the preparation of plans, specifications, and bidding documents to accompany the formal grant application to.the Federal Aviation Administration. INCREASE IN CONTRACT FOR ARCHITECTURAL AND ENGINEERING SERVICES, CHICAGO CIRCLE (5) The President of the University, with the concurrence of the appropriate administrative officers, recommends an increase -of $50,000 in the estimated fee in the contract with Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, Chicago, for complete architectural and engineering services for Site Development and Coordinating Services, Chicago Circle. Funds are available in state capital appropriations to the University for 196769 and have been released by the Governor. O n m o t i o n of M r . H u g h e s , t h i s r e c o m m e n d a t i o n w a s a p p r o v e d b y the following vote: Aye, M r . Clement, M r . H u g h e s , M r . S w a i n ; no, none; absent, none. LEASE OF SPACE AT 61 O SOUTH SIXTH STREET, CHAMPAIGN, ILLINOIS (6) The President of the University, with the concurrence of the appropriate administrative officers, recommends that the Board of Trustees request the University of Illinois Foundation to lease the second floor (3,000 square feet) of 610 South Sixth Street, Champaign, Illinois, and a basement storage room at the same address at an annual rental of $9,450 for a period beginning on or about November 1, 1968, and extending for a ten-year period thereafter. The Foundation would sublease the space to the University at the rental indicated from the beginning of the period to June 30, 1969, and on a biennial basis thereafter. This space will be improved and renovated by the owner in accordance with University recommendations and is to be used to relocate the Campus Planning Office of the University Planning and Construction staff. Funds for rental and operation until June 30, 1969, are available in the Physical Plant budget. Funds required after that date will be requested in the budget of the Physical Plant Department on an annual basis.

On motion of Mr. Clement, this recommendation was approved by the following vote: Aye, Mr. Clement, Mr. Hughes; present, Mr. Swain; no, none; absent, none.
