URBANA (5) The Dean of the College of Physical Education at Urbana recommends the following appointments to the Advisory Committee for the College: BRUCE W. FERGUSON, Assistant Professor and Supervising Teacher of Physical Education, Northern Illinois University — term to expire June 30, 1970. (Mr. Ferguson will replace Mr. R. J. Hildreth who has asked to be relieved of this appointment.) CHARLES KIRCHNER, Chief, Division of Local and Regional Planning, Illinois Department of Business and Economic Development — term to expire June 30, 1971. (Mr. Kirchner will replace Mr. Harold Judy whose term expired June 30, 1968.) I concur.

On motion of Mr. Grimes, these appointments were approved.

DEANSHIP OF THE COLLEGE OF PHARMACY. MEDICAL CENTER

(6) The Chancellor at the Medical Center has recommended to me the appointment of Dr. August P. Lemberger, presently Professor of Pharmacy, University of Wisconsin, as Professor of Pharmacy on indefinite tenure and Dean of the College of Pharmacy at the Medical Center, beginning September 1, 1969, at an annual salary of $28,000 on a twelve-month service basis. The appointment of Dr. Lemberger will fill the vacancy which will be created by the retirement of Dean George L. Webster at the end of the current academic year. This recommendation is based upon a report from a faculty consultative committee 1 and follows consultation with the Executive Committee of the College of Pharmacy. The Executive Vice President and Provost and the Acting Dean of the Graduate College at the Medical Center endorse this recommendation. I concur.

On motion of Mr. Hughes, this appointment was approved.

HEADSHIP OF THE DEPARTMENT OF SOCIOLOGY, URBANA (7) The Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Urbana, recommends 1 Charles L. Bell, Associate Professor of Chemistry, Chairman; Herbert S. Carlin, Associate Professor and Director of Hospital Pharmacy; Donald J. Caseley, Medical Director of Research and Educational Hospitals; Frank A. Crane, Associate Professor of Pharmacognosy and Pharmacology; Dean B. Doner, Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Chicago Circle; Ernst R. Kirch, Professor of Chemistry; Ralph W. Morris, Associate Professor of Pharmacology; Mary K. Mullane, Dean of College of Nursing; Daniel A. Nona, Assistant Professor of Pharmacy.
