A schedule of the bids received has been filed with the Secretary of the Board for record. On motion of M r . H a h n , these contracts were awarded by the following vote: Aye, Mr. Forsyth, M r . H a h n , M r . H o w a r d , M r . Hughes, M r . Neal, M r . Pogue, Mr. Swain; no, n o n e ; absent, Dr. Bakalis, Mr. Grimes, Governor Ogilvie, M r . Steger.

CONTINUATJON OF EMPLOYMENT OF ARCHITECT FOR LONG-RANGE P L A N N I N G , MEDICAL CENTER

(11) The President of the University, with the concurrence of appropriate administrative officers, recommends that the contract for the employment of Richardson, Severns, Scheeler & Associates, Inc., Champaign, for long-range campus planning studies at the Medical Center campus be extended to June 30, 1972, at a fee of actual cost of technical personnel, plus ISO per cent for overhead and profit, plus normal reimbursables with the total fee and reimbursables for FY 1972 not to exceed $20,000. Funds for this work are available in state capital appropriations to the University and have been released by the Governor. O n motion of Mr. Swain, this recommendation was approved, with the understanding that a report on the capability of the University's architectural staff to conduct this kind of planning service would be prepared, and that the funds involved would not be spent until the report was submitted at the next meeting of the Board of Trustees. This action was taken by the following vote: Aye, M r . H o w a r d , Mr. H u g h e s , Mr. Neal, M r . Pogue, M r . Swain; no, Mr. F o r s y t h ; absent, Dr. Bakalis, M r . Grimes, Governor Ogilvie, Mr. Steger. Mr. H a h n asked to be recorded as not voting. (Subsequently, the Trustees were sent a report on this subject and gave their concurrence informally in the implementation of the recommendation. This report is filed with the Secretary of the Board for record.) LEASE OF PROPERTY AT 216 GRIGGS STREET. URBANA (12) The President of the University, with the concurrence of appropriate administrative officers, recommends entering into a lease of a warehouse building at 216 Griggs Street, Urbana, for the use of the University of Illinois Press at a rental of $2,800 for the period beginning December 1, 1971, through June 30, 1972. The lease will further provide for six additional one-year option periods at an annual rental of $4,800. Funds are available for the current year in the University Press Auxiliary Account. The exercise of the single-year options will be contingent upon continuing need and availability of funds for this purpose in the account. On motion of M r . Swain, this recommendation was approved by the following vote: Aye, Mr. Forsyth, M r . H a h n , Mr. H o w a r d , Mr. H u g h e s , M r . Neal, Mr. Pogue, M r . LEASE OF SPACE FOR PEORIA SCHOOL OF MEDICINE

(13) At its meeting on September IS, 1971, the Board of Trustees authorized a lease agreement with Bradley University, Peoria, for space for the Peoria School of Medicine. Funds for the total rental, which covers operating costs, remodeling reimbursement, and parking, for FY 1972, were estimated to be $63,500. Under the lease agreement Bradley University is to be reimbursed for remodeling costs incurred as a result of the requirements of the University of Illinois. Bids for the initial remodeling required have now been received by Bradley University and are in excess of the original estimates by approximately $21,500. The Office of Physical Plant Planning and Construction has examined the bids and determined that the bids received are reasonable and recommends that Bradley University award construction contracts for this work.
