OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE COSTS

The estimated cost of operating and maintaining new buildings is four per cent of their construction costs. For residence halls, and other income-producing buildings, this cost is charged against the income. This applies only to the plant at Urbana-Champaign. In the Chicago departments this cost would be considerably higher because of the character of the services supplied (for example, hospital and medical services).
