URBANA-CHAMPAIGN

Appropriation — $i, 000,000 Improvements and rehabilitation of existing buildings are urgently needed. The following, not listed in any order of priority, are examples of such needs. 1. Remodeling of English Building for use by the Department of Physical Education for Women. 2. Remodeling of t h a t area vacated by Physics Department in Physics Laboratory for use by Mining and Metallurgical Engineering Department. 3. Remodeling of area vacated by Physiology Department in Natural History Building for use by Botany Department. 4. Remodeling of area vacated by Department of Bacteriology in Noyes Laboratory for use by Chemistry and Chemical Engineering Department. 5. Remodeling of area vacated by University Press in basement of Administration Building for expansion by other administrative units in building. Assumes the Department of Zoology will continue to use the Vivarium. Assumes completion of required space for Agronomy including greenhouses (based on new reduced standards). 3 To be provided through appropriations to the Medical Center Commission. * 5 Subject to adjustment after site has been selected by Board of Trustees. To correct a potentially dangerous overload condition in the electrical distribution system in the old hospital section.
