percentage of the sales of this antibiotic. It now appears that such income will be forthcoming in the near future. The University statutes provide that the University Patent Committee shall recommend the percentage of income thus received to be paid to the inventors. The Patent Committee recommends that 15 per cent of the net income thus received should be paid to the inventors, the distribution of such income among the inventors to be their decision. I concur in this recommendation. M r . Bissell, for the Committee on Patents, reported that the Committee also concurs in this recommendation, and on his motion, it was approved.

C O M M U N I C A T I O N FROM MAYOR RICHARD J . DALEY

A t this point M r . I r a J. Bach, Commissioner of City Planning of Chicago, and M r . Clifford Campbell, Deputy Commissioner, appeared at the Board meeting with a letter from M a y o r Richard J. Daley, addressed to the President of the University, u r g i n g that the selection of a site for the Chicago U n d e r g r a d u a t e Division be deferred, and inviting the T r u s t e e s to confer with him on this matter. M r . Bach suggested t h a t in view of this invitation the B o a r d might wish to consider the action previously taken on site selection. It was the concensus of the Board that the action already taken should not be rescinded but t h a t a r r a n g e m e n t s for a conference of the Committee on General Policy with M a y o r Daley should be made as soon as possible.
