A P P O I N T M E N T O F ACTING DIRECTOR O F DIVISION O F SERVICES FOR CRIPPLED C H I L D R E N (2) On recommendation of the Vice-President in charge of the Chicago Professional Colleges, I have approved the appointment of Dr. E d w a r d F . Lis, Associate Professor of Pediatrics in the Collge of Medicine and in the Division of Services for Crippled Children, and Director of the Center for Handicapped Children in t h e Research and Educational Hospitals, as Acting Director of the Division of Services for Crippled Children effective February 1, 1959, and continuing until the effective date of appointment of a Director. H e will continue in his present positions as Associate Professor of Pediatrics on indefinite tenure and a s Director of t h e Center for Handicapped Children in the Research and Educational Hospitals. F o r services as Acting Director, I have approved an additional salary of $165 a month. This appointment is t o fill the vacancy created by the untimely death on January 10 of Dr. Herbert R. Kobes, who had been a member of the faculty and Director of the Division since 1945. A recommendation for a permanent appointment will be made in due time. Confirmation of this action is requested. O n motion of M r . Johnston, this appointment w a s confirmed. BURTNESS, Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering, beginning March 1, 1959, at a n annual salary of $10,000 ( D ) . 3. J O H N E . CREW, Research Assistant Professor of Physics, beginning September 1, 1959, at an annual salary of $7,200 ( D Y ) . 4. DORA E. DAMRIN, Research Assistant Professor of Education, in the Bureau of Educational Research, beginning F e b r u a r y 1, 1959, at an annual salary of $8,900 ( D Y ) . 5. W I L L I A M L .
