south of Florida Avenue between Orchard Street extended and Race Street, Urbana, to Shapland Homes, Inc., Champaign, the lowest bidder, on the basis of its bid of $914,700. They also recommend that the Board authorize the execution of a supplementary change order increasing the contract by $20,100 to provide for additional items of work desired by the University. Funds are available from the sale of "The Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois Housing Revenue Bonds of 1958, Series A and B." I concur in these recommendations. On motion of Mrs. Watkins, these recommendations were approved by the following vote: Aye, Mr. Bissell, Mr. Herrick, Mrs. Holt, Mr. Hughes, Mr. Johnston, Mr. Livingston, Mr. Swain, Mrs. Watkins, Mr. Williamson; no, none; absent, Mr. Nickell, Mr. Stratton.

CONTRACT FOR C O N S T R U C T I O N O F CENTRAL FOOD STORES BUILDING A N D EQUIPMENT

(15) The Director of the Physical Plant and the Vice-President and Comptroller recommend the award of contracts as follows, the award in each case being to the lowest bidder: Construction of Central Food Stores Building — Felmley-Dickerson Company, Urbana Base bid $989 000 Alternate A, construction of pile foundation instead of soil bearing foundation, deduct —12 000 Alternate B, installation of Air-Lee operators on refrigerator doors, add 2 600 Net amount of contract $979 600 Equipment for Central Food Stores Building — Illinois Range Company, Mount Prospect, Illinois Total of bids of meat cutting, vegetable processing, and test kitchen equipment $ 5 7 J6o Deductions of items to be omitted —2 942 Net amount of contract $ 5 4 218 Felmley-Dickerson Company has agreed to omit or change certain items totaling $19,450 in order to reduce the cost of the project. These will be negotiated as a change order. Bids were also taken on bakery equipment for this building, but these installations can be deferred until additional funds are available, and it is therefore recommended that all bids on bakery equipment be rejected. Funds are available from the sale of "The Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois Housing Revenue Bonds of 1958, Series A and B." I concur in these recommendations. On motion of Mr. Williamson, this recommendation was approved by the following vote: Aye, Mr. Bissell, Mr. Herrick, Mrs. Holt, Mr. Hughes, Mr. Johnston, Mr. Livingston, Mr. Swain, Mrs. Watkins, Mr. Williamson; no, none; absent, Mr. Nickell, Mr. Stratton.

CONTRACT FOR C O N S T R U C T I O N O F SNACK BAR A N D SERVICE B U I L D I N G FOR M E N ' S RESIDENCE HALLS

(16) The Director of the Physical Plant and the Vice-President and Comptroller recommend the award of a contract for $364,592 to A. F. Krall Construction Company, Decatur, Illinois, the lowest bidder, for the construction of a snack bar and service building at the southwest corner of Gregory Drive and Euclid Avenue, Champaign, to serve all of the Men's Residence Halls in the area. Funds are available from the sale of "The Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois Housing Revenue Bonds of 1958, Series A and B." I concur. O n motion of M r . Johnston, this contract w a s a w a r d e d by t h e following vote: Aye, M r . Bissell, M r . H e r r i c k , M r s . Holt, M r . H u g h e s ,
